$28 million lottery ticket sold at Houston KrogerCopyright 2009 Houston Chronicle March 24, 2009, 11:29PM A person purporting to hold the winning ticket for the $28 million Lotto Texas drawing of March 14 contacted the Lottery Commission on Tuesday, spokeswoman Robyn Smith said. The possible winner correctly identified a serial number on the ticket, Smith said, but hasn’t formally come forward to claim the prize. The ticket purchaser selected the Quick Pick feature and the cash value option, which pays about $19 million, Smith said. The win will not become official until the ticket is presented to the commission and further review is conducted, she said. The winning ticket was sold at a Kroger at 13133 Veterans Memorial in Houston.
