I have always wanted to go to a chicken and waffle place (opening soon in the old Italian Delights).

Bacon and waffles. Chicken and waffles together is stupid.

It's a west coast (or maybe a southern?) thing, I think. I've seen it a couple times on the food network. Gladys Night has a chicken and waffle restaurant. You put chicken on top of the waffles and pour syrup over all of it.
I agree with the bacon comment. Bacon never bad.

Fried chicken with some honey on it is really good.

I've been told that they use the old Myer's Fried Chicken recipe. Couldn't tell you for sure, but my Mom speaks fondly of that place.

I remember Myers Fried Chicken when it was on 6th St. it was the best. Then they moved to Georgia street on the east side down around where Market Street is now, well I am not totally sure, the quality was so, so. Then they moved to the SE corner of Bell and the Canyon Expressway and they didn't last very long after that. If the new place uses that recipe the old people will be there in droves.
There is a place going in on 6th St. that is advertising home made gellatto. If they have a good recipe that will be a nice treat.

The gellatto is one of the things I miss about Italian Delights. (FYI to those that don't remember, used to be where Wheels is.)

Ok: The official review of Wheels....
Awesome! Went with 5 others. Everyone was amazed.
The chicken: Dark crusted, not greasy, but juicy. Nicely spiced. Maybe doesn't beat homemade, but beats all other chicken purveyors hands down.
The Waffle: pillowy, Belgian style, with a cute clear ramekin of your own syrup of the side.
The Mac n cheese: creamy and rich
The green been casserole: just like my mom makes.
The (?!?!?) new mexico red and green sauce on the side: An unexpected accompaniment that would cure a boring meal, but my palate was not bored to begin with.
The fried corn on cob: as good as I've had anywhere.
The gravy served with the toast: the strangest part of the meal, it was pale green! A quick smell and taste solved the mystery: sage. Tastes like Thanksgiving in a bowl.
The combo fried appetizer (japs, zucchini, mac and cheese bites, pickles): While it came out after our food (my only quibble) it was a nice platter to pass around.
I will be back.... Maybe even today if I didn't scavenge everyone's leftovers. And, if I don't die from a massive coronary first.
Oh... and its called "Wheels" because the walls are covered with cars and motorbikes. Bring your own framed picture!
If I did a star rating: 4 of 4 stars.
