It will be very interesting to see how the meet is run with all the regional meets cancelled due to swine flu.

I believe they said on the KFDA Ch.10 news at 10 pm...
That the top 4 from the district meets would go.
A guy from Canyon already has a track offer from UT...
But somehow he was going to regional to qualify for state...but now can't go to the state meet.

The possibility of not having regional track meets caused such a reaction, the UIL has rethought the situation and will hold the regional track meets. This is the only fair way to do it. Taking only the top four times in a region was a not good or fair idea as the environment at the district competition level could be so different as to affecting the times or results.

I agree. Most kids run to win and if they are in a slow district, they will only run fast enough to beat the others. They step it up at regionals and state. Not to mention the factor weather plays in times posted. I haven't been to the state meet in 8 years. Almost makes me wish I had a child competing again.
