Little blonde heavy chick has serious problems counting change back. - My order total was $5.39.
- I gave her a $20 bill.
- My change should have been $14.61.
- She gave me back $11.61...and then ran off.
- I used the order speaker to call her back for the $3 more she owed me.
- I told her she owed me $3 more.
- She then handed me $17.00...and then ran off again.
- At this point...she had given me back $28.61...from a $20 bill...on a $5.39 order.
- I am honest...so I used the speaker to call her back again.
- I handed her back the $17...and told her she had given me $11.61 first time.
- Next I had to tell her again that she owed me $3 more...which she then gave me.
- She still did not understand the situation...but I gave up and left.
Call me a tightwad...but if I let money slide all the time...it eventually adds up. And I am not going to keep money that is not mine. Also...I will never tip anywhere close to 50 percent on a small fast-food order. It's hard to believe the Amarillo schools are failing this kid so badly. It's also a parenting issue of the girl having such poor math skills.

Schools in any grade level have never taught the children to make change. They are totally dependent on the computer. I go to a place a lot that doesn't have a computer and a new person, that is in college, was making change and she couldn't do it.

The day was going great...until I entered the Sonic carhop zone this evening. Definitely one of those truth is stranger than fiction episodes.

At least it was free root beer float night tonight! No change needed!

The Sonic carhops also have a tendency to not give you your change if it's a small amount. If I feel the service deserves a tip, I will tip. I don't like having my change taken without even asking me.

They should never keep a customer's change without asking. The tip should be given back to them...if the customer thinks they worked for it. Maybe some people don't pay attention to how much money they get back...but I do. And if someone mis-charges me...I have a good memory for numbers. This probably 17 year old girl couldn't do simple 5th grade math subtraction.

I'll tip occasionally at Sonic, but I don't like it. Fast food places whould be tip free service, that's what they are there for. I use the debit card terminal at Sonic and that seems to take care of both issues.

I will usually use my credit card, but if I'm only getting a happy hour vanilla diet dr. pepper, it doesn't seem worth it to use a card.

I do not tip at Sonic. They make at least minimum and it is their job to deliver the food in that format. I'll save my tips for the full service folks.
The coulter store is my least favorite to visit.
