A gun-toting former NYPD cop barged into a Rockland County middle school on Tuesday but was wrestled to the ground and disarmed by the school's superintendent, police said. No one was injured during the heart-stopping fracas at the South Orangetown Middle School in Blauvelt. By the time police arrived at the school, Superintendent Ken Mitchell had the ex-cop pinned to the ground, police told the Journal News. The gunman's weapon had been taken away from him. As many as three shots were fired during the struggle inside the superintendent's office, the paper reported. Mitchell, 54, was not hurt._____(New York Daily News/Rich Schapiro/NYDN screen capture) _____ A former New York cop has showed up at a middle school in New York City and the superintendent wrestled the cop and got his gun away but 3 shots were fired in the wrestling match. Terrified students were holed up in classrooms and parents scared silly rushed to the school in horror. The former New York cop had a "minor issue" with the school.
