This topic is a criticism of the WT athletic program...and not this young man. This guy does not have close to the athletic skill level that Ryan Leaf had. So I hope he is not in over his head at what is supposed to be a big D2 program. >>> I wish this guy luck...because he is going to need it to keep WT at the same level. Every time I hear the "ties to" phrase I get flash-back memories to Ronnie Jones. And that was the fault of WT...but mostly a bunch of old WT pseudo-boosters. >>> Problem: WT quarterback coach is still probably an un-paid position. >>>> Solution: Market and promote and advertise and try to sell out every game. Because getting more butts in the stands...means a LOT more money for coaching salaries. And then we might also be able get a better defensive coordinator to help Colby coach. west-texan: He's the guy who calls it like he sees it...without any pseudo-booster spin. www.amarillo.com/stories/081509/wts_wt1.shtml

Now I've got to wonder. Why? 1. For a passing offense like WT...this should be a very important coaching position. 2. I just did some checking...and Texas Tech does not even list a QB coach on their website. www.texastech.com/sports/m-footbl/text-m-footbl-body.htmlDoes everyone run this as a freebie grad-assistant spot? Still...the phrase "has ties to" worries me at WT. I'm still pissed that this appears to be a "down" season that was planned in advance. And I'm wishing we had a more experienced person at this coaching spot.
