I flew my flag at home, which I always do on September 11th. I enjoyed Rush's recitation of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, which he cited passages in reference to the attacks on 9/11.
The rememberance should be about honoring the memory of the dead and the sacrifices made in giving that last full measure of devotion. 9/11 should be about brave Americans like Todd Beamer and the police, fire & rescue units in Manhattan.
President Obama attended Walter Cronkite's funeral at the Lincoln Center in Manhattan last week. On the occasion of the 9/11 memoerial service he sent Vice President Biden.
Mr. Obama did deliver a speech however, wherein he urged Americans to come together in service just as they united after the terrorist attacks. I have quit being offended by this miserable little worm and his worn out socialist rhetoric, even when he should be taking this solemn occasion to honor the memory and sacrifice of brave Americans, instead he uses it to summon Americans to "service". I've just come to expect it.
