that is a great question (I know you are kidding, but I'll answer seriously).... surprisingly, I've lost 30 lbs over the past year, back down to my college weight, 175. I do the Paul McKenna diet: www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQv1JBZ197QNo kidding, I watched a 1 hour program on TLC, then started dropping the pounds. Wife has done it too.

I've been dieting and losing weight lately and enjoying some success. I've been riding my bike to work, about 5 miles each way, or else taking my bike to work and riding a nice 6.5 mile route around that end of town.
It's tough with so many restaurants around here, and with the southern tendency to look at food as hospitality. The last couple of times we went to the lake it was a massive pig out with a big group. The last time I tried smoking 13 pounds of ribs in a Weber grill. The results were ok, but I just bought a smoker with an offset fire box to do it right.
I will check out that diet, that looks interesting.

Good luck with that smoker, oldrip! I have an offset firebox smoker, but it was such a thin gauge of steel that it won't hold the heat. Or at least that's my excuse why I can't produce good BBQ with it. I've recently got a R2D2 shaped electric for only 70 bucks, works great, but only for 2 racks at a time. Just throw in some soaked wood chunks, and forget it.

The smoker I got was branded Char Broil, like an infra red model I have that runs on LP gas, so i thought it would be ok. I haven't taken it out of the box yet and still have the receipt just in case I change my mind, but on the box it advertises heavy guage steel and it weighed over 100 pounds, taking two guys to load it. The retail price was $158 at Wal Mart. Is that the one? I see Home depot and Wal Mart had a similar model branded Brinkmann, but from looking at the unit, I think it must have been made by the same manufacturer.

Bdub and rip, congrats on the weight management. I started a little diet management myself a couple of years ago and have gotten 30 pound lighter. Sure feel better but I do hit a weak moment from time to time.

Thanks sj!! Speaking of weak moments: all of this last weekend. Mondays are always the day I hit the "reset" button.
