54 years old...and was still coaching high school in 1999. Would be a step backwards like Gene Mayfield was at West Texas State in the early to mid 1970's. Has not improved Baylor's record in 2 years there. I do not want to see Tech hire an old school type coach. Mayfield took WT down low enough that WT almost dropped football before hiring Bill Yung. ***************************************************** Not even on the list. But former West Texas State quarterback Steve Kragthorpe would be the best direction for Tech. Tech needs to go with a younger but still experienced offensive type college coach. ***************************************************** Myers is a cranky old AD who just pulled a Joe Kerbel firing on Mike Leach. ***************************************************** It won't happen dept: But I'd love to see Borger take Gerald Myers name off their gym. ***************************************************** Sorry...but high school wins don't impress me at the college level. And Baylor is still at bottom feeder status in the Big 12. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art_Briles

w-t. although Coach Ruff has stated he would like the head job at Tech.....remember Briles was an assistant there and coaches an offense similiar to the offense Leach ran. This means coach and players talents could fit. Could be an easy "slip-in" for Briles to take over the head job at Tech....which with a suitable contract, I think he would do.
