Lord these winds are horrendous ! don't know why this area doesn't build dome homes and igloos they would stand up better to these winds from hell. I watched my neighbors trash bin blow up the road and distribute the booty in the neighbors yard. Even though I'm a temporary disabled person due to a bad sprain due to a lapse of judgement LOL I drove down my driveway and put a large concrete rock on mine. I'd like to have the Endust consignment down here ! LOL You can smell the dirt in the air. I've yet to figure out what a 'red flag warning' is down here when U see it on the TV. I expect to see a flying cow whoosh by my window any minute now. Woe unto the 100 lb folks they couldn't stand up to the winds.

The wind has now slowed down to about 14 mph...which is normal. It is much nicer outside! I really should spread rumors that the new people from Indiana brought the wind with them. ;D Think anyone would buy that? And I've been in Lubbock when it was really windy and no fun to drive around.

I have to admit, I have just started driving again, after 10 years. My Hubby drove all the time, well, unless he was just too sick to drive.

;D My realtor said we bought the rain ! LOL she said "we've never had so much rain till U all started coming down here". I gotta admit I looked at the repair man kind of weird the other day when he showed me a pic on his fancy phone of a ditch full of water. You would had thought he was showing me a prize bull or something. I assumed it was such a rare occurance that he had to stop and take a picture of it. I just smiled and said "yeah, that's nice". We traded the stiffling humidity for the dust I guess.

About 6:30 yesterday morning, the humidity was at 100 percent in Amarillo.
But when the wind kicked in, the humidity was down to 7 percent yesterday afternoon.
Now that is extremely dry for anywhere.

Now, now, IMO. It's fine driving around here. Just stay the hell outta my way! ;D I spent a year and half living and working in Lubbock back in the 80's. And I still think Lubbock is very easy to get around in. But when I was living there, Lubbock got a lot more snow than Amarillo did. And I still had my 1978 Pontiac rear wheel drive car that wasn't fun on slick roads.

The chick I was running around with in Lubbock has a little sister who is married to a guy from Midland.
He still says that he thinks Midland is more civilized than Odessa.

How those men (from the Black Gold TV show) could get badly injured then keep on working is beyond me ! talk about sucking it up ! made of steel. I get a splinter and you would think it was terminal. ROFL Glad when that one old coot got fired though couldn't stand him. Wasn't nice how they treated the newbies either. That's just a man thing though.
