I think those guys are trying to find a conference which they will be more competitive. The are not having much luck with WT, ACU and the rest.

I've heard all sorts of things from:
1. Central Oklahoma and Northeastern Oklahoma leaving for the MIAA conference.
2. The other Oklahoma LSC schools leaving to form a new conference with the Arkansas schools form the Gulf South Conference.
3. Some fans of the Oklahoma schools saying they don't know about leaving for sure.
4. A WT fan hearing that the Oklahoma school coaches are not pleased with a conference change.
So who knows for sure until we start seeing official press releases from the LSC and schools.

I wish the Oklahoma schools that came up from NAIA would have made a better commitment to win.
But I do see a short-term improvement in competition level with more non-conference games.
And the LSC will depend on what the Southland does for future expansion.
Because no one can afford to be left behind, or you end up like Howard Payne or Sul Ross or McMurry.
And the long-term future for Amarillo depends on growth and expansion at WT.

D2 is not in the best long-term interest of WT for growth and name recognition. But in the near short-term, this statement right here does make some sense. Because playing a 10 game regular season like high schools do is completely unacceptable. Don't even think about scheduling only 10 games.
