The University of North Alabama is planning a move from D2 up to D1.
But this is also true for WT.
By going back to D1, WT would move back up the Texas state recruiting hierarchy a bit.
At D1-FBS, WT was right behind UTEP in Texas.
But down at D2,
For recruiting, WT is now behind all the Big-12 schools and all the Conference-USA schools.
And WT is probably also behind the Southland schools who can offer more up front scholarship money.
A move back up to D1 would also help out WT basketball recruiting, and other sports.
