Brown town?
Must be a reference to the sky color during a Lubbock dirt storm. ;D
They used to have prairie dogs west of the Tech campus.

I've found the people to be very friendly and for that I'm grateful. only thing that rattles me timbers is when I hear that expression upon the stinking smell that covers all of Amarillo some mornings and I make a comment some person will say "that's the smell of money" bulls*it, that's the smell of manure. LOL

5.8 million head of beef cattle fed in the Panhandle each year. This doesn't count dairy or cow-calf operations. The majority of the beef eaten in the US comes from here.

Someone remarked about the smell of the stockyards that to them it smelled like perfume. To which I responded "corral number 5"?

Living here on the far north side of town where I never smell the feedlots south west of town I can't help but laugh at all those fancy houses where you can't even stand to go outside.
