Just heard some stay forever in D2 crap during the WT game today 10-30-10. 2nd quarter with about 11 minutes left. Not sure if that was a KAMR TV person or Michael McBroom. But they need to take their smaller stadium idea...and please leave WT. The WT game was going just fine at 21-0 WT. Until someone opened his mouth with the D2 stay small agenda. We already have a big stadium built for expansion to take WT back to D1.

And there are good solutions for fixing concrete and keeping your stadium right where it is. This is concrete being replaced during the Michigan Stadium renovation. And any concrete replacement does not have to be done all at once at Kimbrough. It could be done in several phases.

WTAMU pay attention! Because most of Michigan Stadium is concrete below ground backed up by dirt berms. And Kimbrough Memorial Stadium was built the same way...and this is how it can be renovated.

Andy Justus & Brad Fralick made the comments--McBroom was not there.....Nothing, I repeat, nothing, was said about a smaller stadium....They just commented how nice it would be if WT could have a stadium on campus where students could walk to the game like they do at UIW....They said they love the Bro'.....A nice idea, too, especially with the new sports park....Your smaller stadium conspiracy theory is getting old....Besides you and I probably won't live long enough to see a new stadium or any major improvements to KMS.

Most people want to renovate Kimbrough like I do. But McBroom is the one who has said he wants a new smaller stadium. It has been in the Globe News several times. And the capacity mentioned is always several thousand seats less than Kimbrough. I think you know all about this. And I predict something will be done within 1 to 3 years. Because the NCAA moratorium on moving up ends in August 2011. amarillo.com/stories/021408/wts_9602787.shtml

Interesting....And what is the basis for your 1-3 year time period?..... A move to D-I (or a new stadium) is not even being considered by anyone at WT at this time as far as I know.....Sounds like wishful thinking on your part?

With 2 spots most likely opening up in the Southland Conference for expansion. WT would have to be seriously stupid to not be thinking about growth and moving forward. Right now WT is just spinning wheels and barely growing...and added only like 62 students this fall. D2 is not helping WT grow at all. And D1 Texas Tech keeps growing and eating away at WT's market share for students in this area. If Tech keeps growing at this rate...WT will eventually start shrinking. D2 is a curse that keeps WT from growing. Even coaches at other LSC schools are talking about moving up and moving forward. amarillotalk.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=wtfootball&action=display&thread=3551

Big question for you: Any good alum would want their school to grow and have more students. So what is your stance on growth and expansion at WT?

All for growth & expansion but not if it puts WT in deep financial hole....I'm not convinced a move to D-I will guarantee anything but that....One thing is for certain: any such move would be incredibly expensive with absolutely no guarantee of a return on that investment....Just look at places like Northern Colorado, SFA, SHSA, Nicholls State, just to name a few that WT would probably have to play.....No exciting rivalries there. They don't draw nearly as well as we do and have got to wonder if it's worth it....They may say otherwise but alums are having to cough up a bunch of money to keep them afloat....You can continue to spout about the glories of D-I but it ain't happenin' at WT anytime soon....
