I go to Amarillo enough that I really need some of you natives to tell me the good out of the way places to have lunch. After I got home tonight I went Salsa dancing with some friends. Most of us have never Salsa danced before. Now we're thinking we need lessons. LOL

Haven't been there in a while but the Tai Star just west of a large overpass with a manufactured housing place on the east side of the overpass on the Boulevard. A small mom & pop operation but I've never had a bad meal there. We have a menu from an Indian place also farther east on the Boulevard that I want to try. Coyote Bluff on Grand street has some killer gut bomb hamburgers. The doc has me watching my weight & cholesterol so I haven't been consuming much beef lately. There's another Tai place just east of 26th and Ross-Osage on the south side of the street I recall some good fare there. Pei Wei located next to a World Market and strip mall on Soncy has some superb entrees, I recall their food always tasted fresh and flavorful. Cafe $1.50 (the deli counter in Sam's) has great hot dogs & pizza . Is McAlisters open yet? I also like Applebee's with their lowcal menu options. My favorite is the peppercorn steak entree for about 550 calories.

Thanks, old rip. I like to try different things sometimes. I especially like to try out places that aren't chain restaurants.

The Indian place is called The Indian Oven on 11000 I-40 East, at the corner of S Pullman rd & I-40. The s/o and I are celebrating our anniversary this weekend. I think we may consider that place.

McAlister's is open.
And it looked packed when I drove by there on 34th about 7 pm as the rain was just starting.
But it's a chain restaurant,
so it may be safe to go there and not worry about running into phantom. ;D

Maybe I should always warn you before I come to town.
