A guy posted this during the last WT home game that had only 5300 people show up. And Kimbrough Memorial Stadium seats 20,000. WT has good coaches and good players...and Amarillo is still not interested in D2. This is embarrassing and it makes WT look bad. And this scares off some potential WT students. The problem is the D2 label...and a smaller stadium will not fix the problem. And a stadium closer to the WT campus will not fix the D2 non-interest problem. With the Amarillo population size...WT should sell out 20,000 seats for every game. If this is what happens after 25 years of D2. Then it's time for WT to move to a D1 level that people in Amarillo want to watch. Make a lot more money with more fans in the stands...and with a lot more season ticket holders.

Even at a general admission price of $10 per seat:
14,700 empty seats * $10 = $147,000
That's a lot of big money that WT missed out on.
1. Then you can add in the concession money that 14,700 people would have spent...........
2. And a full stadium makes fans happy and makes WT look good.
3. And when WT looks good...more students come to WT.
4. And when more students come to WT......WT gets more state funding for academics.
5. And more WT students and more faculty will spend more money in the local economy.
.......................The cause of empty seats = D2
.......................The cost of empty seats in a stadium = PRICELESS!
