Say what you want about the Ticket City Bowl. But they sure don't bother creating anything like this for little D2 playoff games. WT is missing out on bowl game revenue. While WT makes no money from D2 playoff games. And how many people in Amarillo really give a rip about a playoff game against Northeast Central Western Missouri State in a little bitty high school stadium? And how many WT fans get to go to that game vs how many Tech fans can go to this bowl game? And then the WTAMU Buffs are missing out on more revenue from licensed sales of merchandise. It's very obvious that WT would get a lot more benefit in many ways from D1 than WT gets from D2.

Notice where it says 18 consecutive years of bowl eligibility for Texas Tech? That's means Tech has a lot more D1 football revenue opportunities than WT has from D2. So can anyone tell me what big benefit WT gets from playing down at the D2 level? .......................Remember that WT was at the D1 FBS level from 1910 to 1981.

It's very obvious that a D1 bowl completely out-ranks the D2 playoffs. And WT is missing out on money from licensed merchandise. And WT fans are missing out on fun. Because thousands of Tech fans will go to this bowl game in Dallas.
