Can anyone recommend a good carpet cleaner? A competent and honest operator who actually performs the job like they have some ethics and actually know what they are doing?
I've had enough experience with the other kind. Adding on to our house and seeing every kind of contractor Amarillo has to offer, I know now that if I ever lose my job I could be a better electrician, plumber, carpenter and concrete contractor than better than half of those in this town that are just robbing their customers. And that is just with just my experience level of a do it yourselfer.

Carpet-Tech and Blackmon-Mooring Steamatic are the places that advertise the most.
And for minor home plumbing and electrical...I've had excellent results from Scottco.
Scottco charges a fixed quoted price from a book...which I prefer.
And they show up exactly when they say they will.

I got tired of this hard arse water well and had Rayne put in a water softener/whole house filter, and reverse osmosis system in my house and now I can actually drink my own water ! Looking forward to not seeing lime, calcium deposits all over my dishes, plumbing, on my car, dry body parts, etc. Tested water out here in Canyon at 520, one of the highest they said. Highest ever reported was over 800 in north Amarillo. Nice folks, I'd recommend
You can rent your own shampooer and products and do it yourself you know it's done right then.

Amarillo seems to be the center of the worst hard water in this region.
But you have hard water all around here in:
1. Texas Panhandle
2. Oklahoma Panhandle
3. Eastern New Mexico
4. Western Oklahoma
When I was like 6 or 7...my dad's cousin and his wife moved out to a place in the country.
I can remember how their well water was awful back then.
And I think drilling the well deeper fixed the problems.
Because their water tastes much better now.
And I don't think they have a water softener.
But I'll ask my parents about that.
The ice was fine when we were all out at their place for Thanksgiving.

As dry as it has been this winter a little watering on the lawn is advisable, but it wouldn't take much to keep it healthy for an early return in spring.
