Fifth time....Here's how you get something done....It's real simple and you seem to have all the answers:
1. Put your plan on paper....Not copy/paste of someone else's....
2. Then you and your many buddies who you say want this so bad make an appointment with McBroom and present it....
3. Be sure it includes a plan to cover the red ink in the budget....It will be there!
Obviously, McBroom & others have never ever even thought of all that stuff....You're way ahead of the curve.....

1. If McBroom hasn't thought of that...then he is not qualified for his job.
2. If he doesn't already have a public fund-raising campaign in place for D1.
Then McBroom is probably not qualified for his job.
Other D2 schools (like ACU) are starting to move toward D1.
While WT sits on their ass and won't even talk about D1. ;D
Right now WT is on a slow path to nowhere in athletics...and the fans are drying up.
Another 3 to 5 years and WT will be back to playing in front of 300 people.
But that is what you guys from the Buffalo Club want...right? ;D

So you are telling me that McBroom is a moron who can't see the problem? ;D Willard...can you see the problem? McBroom knows the problem...and he chooses to look the other way. I can't tell a blind man that he is blind. ;D Willard...you keep digging yourself a hole and making yourself look bad. Because everyone who reads this board can see the HUGE problem in this picture. I can't tell WT's blind athletic director that he is blind. McBroom knows the problem...and he chooses to look the other way.McBroom already knows how other schools have sucessfully gone to D1. Hey W-T hows the fund raising going? When are you going to walk into McBroom's office with the $100,000 check as a D1 down payment?
After we go D1 and win the Southland Conference I going lead a movement to rename the stadium after you. How does Buffalo Mouth Buffalo Bowl sound?
Oh did you see the McBroom got WT in the LSC Festival in Dallas next year? and did you know that the LSC is taking the increase fees (that got rid of the Okie Schools) and is starting a LSC Channel? Don't look now but the LSC is quickly becoming the best D2 conference.
You want to go where? Southland what?

In case you haven't noticed the thousands of empty seats.
Very few people in Amarillo give a rat's tail about D2 sports.
People in Amarillo would rather sit at home and watch D1.
Fund-raising is the job of McBroom and the Buffalo Club. ;D
Why does WT refuse to talk about D1?
Why does WT refuse to ask for extra money for D1? ;D
Is it because WT is afraid more money will be donated if they talk about D1? ;D
..........................WT has everything to gain by asking for more money to go back to D1.
And Amarillo people will still watch D1...and ignore D2...and the empty seats prove that.

W-T was D1 and when the program was running out of money there were fund raising efforts that failed. It was pre-internet so the Buffs did telethons and even a Willie Nelson Concert at Kimbrough Stadium. People in Amarillo didn't care to save D1. Why would they care to go bacK? WT wins at D2.

Very few people go to WT games even if they win at D2. But D1 and even D1-FCS schools get larger crowds...and I posted that NCAA info. And of course WT ran short of money back then. WT had gone from 1971 to 1985 with no athletic director....and no marketing. And money can't be the reason they dropped to D2. Why? Because WT cut ticket prices when they dropped to D2. ;D I'm old enough to remember the D1 days and what tickets cost. Tickets cost more back in 1981...than WT charges for tickets in 2010. |
