Is that true there's a military factory that makes helicopters for the Air Force in Amarillo?

Just I read in news there's some new model of military helicopter was built in Amarillo, so I decided maybe residents of the city know about the factory. I know there are many military jets fly over the sky a lot, so I though maybe helicopters too?

Wow, I saw this in Half-Life (computer game). It can be compared with Chinook, I guess. Albeit Chinook is more powerful.

I've often wondered if there could be a civilain application for this aircraft. I thought with the congestion on the highways in our largest urban areas, this could be a form of the high speed rail that Osambo is so fond of. The cost of buying right of way through urban population centers would be offset by the cost of the aircraft, but perhaps with more mass production and utilization the cost could come down, but not into the common commuters price range, but still perhaps enough to justify more production and jobs for Amarillo.

It is my understanding Bell recently signed a contract to update military helicopters at Amarillo. It will call for the addition of a few more jobs.

A couple of Pantex employees were layed off recently after being convicted of theft at the plant.

What did they steal? A helicopter? )) I guess everyone has ever dreamed of a helicopter--especially a military one--when stuck in traffic in the afternoon.

They tried to smuggle a couple of warheads stashed inside their socks. Accused of theft and laid off? What about fired and prosecuted?

They were both fired, prosecuted and are serving sentences at this time.
