You get lost in that big ol' dust cloud ? Sounds like it was Lawrence of Arabia down there. I got a ton of dust too, but, not like that footage shown on TV of Lubbock. I got out and hosed down the brick and picked up all the neighbors trash out of my yard. LOL windexed the windows.

It was pretty bad here. But I went to jazzercise and just let it blow. Fortunately I live on the west side of town and Northeast was hit hardest.

We do have an airport. It's not updated like Rick Husband and is all on one level. We have a Burger King and a Starbucks in the airport which is nicer than Rick Husband. Also, cars don't have to stop and be checked here. It surprises me that they do up there. Tell your husband that the "haboob" they showed on TV was for real. It's not the first one we've had. Probably won't be the last.

he flew back to Ind in aug for his ma's 92nd b'day nobody searched my car when I left and then picked him up. I didn't know where to pick up people at and went back to the departure area and this woman cop came over to me and asked me what I was doing I said "I just moved here and is this where you pick up people"? she said "no, that's downstairs area" and watched me to make sure I went back down the way I came in.
I'm afraid to ask what a haboob is and how U pronounce it LOL like 'boob'? ha-boob? wonder what low flying planes would do in a case like that where U can't see thru a 8,000 mountain of dust scare me to death
on another note, up in the small Evansville, Ind airport my sister was searched before she got on plane to go to Vegas. She's blond like me, green eyed, etc. then she got searched departing Vegas too. LOL go figure. told her she must look suspicious LOL

I think it is ha boob. We just call em plain ole dust storm or sand storm. If I was flying at low altitude and saw one coming, I'd either try to get some altitude under me or take off around it. I've had to pull over driving before because I couldn't see during a sand storm.
