It's a yellow headed blackbird. You probably have red wing blackbirds with the red patches on the shoulders as well.

mmmmm a blackbird, eh ? didn't think of that. You think of blackbirds being larger. I've noticed what looks like sea gulls, a type of white bird. Can't be a sea gull though in Tx. You see a lot of them around the Home Depot parking lot on Soncy Rd. Thank you,

yeah, I figured they were always around water. why I couldn't figure out why they were here. LOL Although, I think this yr. is going to be a lot better, rain, wise. My little corner of the world is looking decent this yr.

Storms such as hurricanes have brought seagulls to the Panhandle.

I think the big white birds hanging around the Lawrence Lake drainage pit between Western and Paramount off I-40 are seagulls feeding on whatever they can find in the water.
Some people call them gooney birds.
