We went back to Ind. for a week to visit his oldy mother. Sure was nice not to have to worry about traffic cameras.... enjoyed that. LOL dry up there too, but, nice to see the trees coming thru Ok. we saw where they had those fires, but, glad we made it thru Tulsa and Ok City without incident. On way back there was another fire close to the hwy. plenty of smoke. People slowed down to a crawl and I was driving at the time gave me a start, but, we got the H out of there as fast as we could. Another goober probably threw out a cig or match. I'd like to drop kick people who are that reckless.  |

Wildfires all over Oklahoma some of which appear to have been set because they saw a guy throwing burning newspaper of of a pickup.
And I heard about a big business fire in Tulsa that burned up a trucking company.

I'm surprised we haven't read more about the Ok fire that was allegedly started by that goober throwing out lit newspaper. I couldn't find any more infor online.
That fire we came across on way home fri. was around Joplin, Missouri. Scary....
When is the Olympics over ?

Closing ceremony for the Olympics on TV right now. So it will be over, but they will probably still be talking about it for a week or more.

Poor Phantom ;D By the way I dropped some serious coin up at the Eastland Mall in Evansville, In. LOL I spent so much on his charge card I was checking out at Dillards and the lady said "sorry ma'am your card has been declined". I said "like hale it has" , then, I gave her one of my own. I found a quiet corner called the old man and hollered "You cut off my credit ??" He said "why no" I said "they won't let me charge I tried it twice now give 'em a call and tell em to take the block off I got to keep going here". So, he called em up and explained we were on vacation and stop that 'stuff'. I almost ripped him a new one. LOL I called home to check our messages and they had called him to tell him somebody was hitting his card in Ind. high, wide and handsome....LOL Guess it was good they're on the ball. He took it away from me now  Although, coming thru Ok. I had to stop by the Cherokee Trading Post and picked up a cutie. tee hee, tee hee he took it away again. LOL  He was taking my pic in front of the Indian at the Trading Post and this older nice woman comes up to us and says "you want me to take the both of U". I said "Why, that would be nice thank ya' hun". She did, I thanked her again, her and her husband drove off in a pick-up. Later, that day I checked the Kodak and the one he took of me was on there, but, not the one the stranger took of the 2 of us. guess she didn't press the right button or she drove off laughing . Didn't seem the type to pull a fast one. Oh well.....He's not much for posing anyway. LOL Attachments:

Nice ring. Say what you will...London has all the attention right now...brooms, hubcaps and all! A lot of good music at the closing ceremony for the Olympics. But it's like they had Prince Harry at most of the different events for 2 weeks, and every now and then, they'd show him sitting up in the stands. And Paul McCartney was at the indoor cycling track when the British women won that event. Harry was the royal poster boy for the Olympics this time. |

That is so true. Just about every time I watched, there would be a shot of Prince Harry in the stands. Especially if G.B. had a chance to medal in the event.
