Let's not forget: just because it doesn't say TnT doesn't mean Mitchell doesn't own it. I will get to trying to determine just which filling stations he does and does not own on the prad when I get some free time, but I do know that he does own several in Amarillo that are not labelled TnT. I think he ma have some type of ownership interest in Taylor's.
As for the gas prices in Amarillo, a person would have to be a real moron to believe GM didn't have his hand in the outrageous gas prices here in town. Don't give me any garbage argument about location to refineries and the shut down up in Sunray. Over the 4th of July week, I went up to Colorado and yesterday I went to Guymon and back. Amarillo had the highest gas prices along the way both times by a considerable amount. That is pathetic because New Mexico and Colorado have always been 10-15 cents higher a gallon in the past than the prices in Texas. In fact, gas prices in Las Vegas are about $2.97 a gallon right now because I talked to an old friend last night and that is what he told me he had paid, and their minimum octane is 87, unlike the 85 here. They were always about 20-25 cents higher than Amarillo when I lived there. Now, they have to get all of their gas from CALIFORNIA and the closest refinery is about 4 hours away.
You know, GM has a habit of purchasing his smaller competitors and then shutting them down. I noticed just the other day on the Amarillo MLS that several former Mitchell competitors are now up for sale on the commercial listings. Anybody remember Sam's Quik Way? Their gas was always about 5-10 cents cheaper than TNT's ripoff prices. Well, he purchased them back in the fall and proceeded to shut them down. Now, these same locations are up for sale, but there is a catch now. There is now a deed restriction on all of these properties against convenience-type stores selling groceries, gas, or alcohol at these locations. Pretty slick, huh?
The Love's at the Canyon e-way and Hollywood is usually noticeably cheaper than the TNT at Bell and Arden. Also, the gas prices are considerably less on the way to Lake Tanglewood than they are in the city of Amarillo. Screw that greedy pig Greg Mitchell. Does anybody else remember how he tried to gauge the consumer right after what happened on 9/11? Wow, Greggie, nothing like taking advantage of a national tragedy to make a buck!!! He's scum. I don't care for his little stuck-up daughter, either.
