Gracepro posted the other day about "Amazing Grace" being sung at his church on Sunday, and it's his favorite (I think that's what you said).
Anyway, it got me to thinking about my favorite Christian song.
I have a couple of them, and later I think I'll post youtube links, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has a favorite or favorites they wanna share?
(As for modern, my favorite still, is Mercy Me's "I Can Only Imagine.")
I also love Michael English's "I Bowed on My Knees (and cried holy)".
Those are chill-bump songs.

You are right! I love that one ... especially in my pretty conservative church! It's a hoot to see people start moving because they just can't help it!

I Just Want to see His Face- The Rolling Stones In The Sun- Joseph Arthur Down by the Riverside- traditional I heard a kid from Tascosa sing this (I think he's J.D. Souther's cousin or nephew and headed to Juilliard) and it blew me away. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xzr_GBa8qk

On Eagle's Wings breaks me up. Also like Psalm 42, but it is not very well known. Both those are on my list for my funeral. That is not to be maudlin but celebratory.

I get it, Turnpike. I've thought about those things, too. Have you looked on YouTube for versions of those songs?

There's one line in a song that gets me every time and I can't sing it, "I'm sorry Lord for the thing I've made it but it's all about You, it's all about You Jesus". I write mostly Christian songs and seems each time I write one it becomes my favorite until I write my next. But my absolute from my collection is called "Why Me" and the close second is "I Wanna Go To A Place Called Heaven" that I rewrote the first verse for my father-in-law's funeral service. I squeaked through it without too many tears, the second verse talks about walking through the city of mansions, dancing on streets paved with gold, and seeing my grandma and grandpa, 'For there in Paradise they'll never grow old'. My favorite old time hymn is 'Just As I Am', seems to put me in my place when I feel God isn't loving me because I'm such a goof. The other songs you guys posted, yep, right up there. We used to do "I Can Only Imagine" when I was together with Freedom Flight Ministries. Using volume swell on my guitar with a little delay, whew, good stuff. The lead guy did the vox and the boy can SANG!!!!
