Remember when Pete Carroll went for it on 4th and 2 and we stopped them cold?
That was awesome.

We? You play for the Longhorns? No, I'm the first person who ever referred to his team as we. My alma mater. I called em we when they couldn't string together 8 wins, I'm gonna call em we when they have a perfect season. There's no doubt in my mind that all the good luck rituals and praying that night helped them make that stop.

I watched the '05 Rose Bowl again the other day and watched the special feature on Ahmard Hall "Hero off the field". I was curious what had happened to him and was excited to see he had been drafted the same year as VY by the Titans. He's a great story.

I was expecting a bigger blowout from them on Saturday against Arkansas State. I think the game with TCU could be interesting and I may put some down on TCU if I can get enough points on it. I think some of UT's off the field problems are starting to catch up with them and they haven't beaten a ranked ooc opponent in Austin since 1983.
I'm really impressed with TCU and what coach Gary Patterson puts together every year with what he actually has. I'm surprised a BCS school hasn't come in and picked him up yet.
One thing's for certain, Texas is going to have to get through both Oklahoma and Nebraska to have a shot at the NC this year. Both of those schools looked strong in their season openers, too. My alma mater, CU, is going to be lousy again this year, but they should be a little better than last year. Hawkins is a good coach and it was really his Boise State team that knocked the Gooners intheir BCS bowl game.
