Now you're starting to sound like one of those UT fans from your previous post in this thread, talking about the past. I take it you are basing that upon their years of accumulating wins against the likes of powerhouses such as Baylor, Rice, Houston, TCU, and SMU. Beating up on small private schools for 70 years is nothing to make one beam with pride, Marked. That is why they usually got blown out in their bowl games or other big non-conference games, like they did against Miami in the Cotton Bowl or when they got whipped by UCLA at home 66-3. Or like a team that recently won a national championship, or the only team to have 6 consecutive 10 win seasons this decade. CU hasn't done anything in a long, long time.

I recently emailed some of my aggie friends that I stood ready to help them by starting a "Keep Fran Club." I offered them charter membership. I am still waiting for a reply.....

Horns host Cowboys...what does everyone think? I am glad the game is in Austin. I'll be pulling for the Horns to score 7 more than OSU.

Only 7? Can't wait till November 1st. Kansas Dorothy....remember Kansas....Toto....they play football up there too...hmmmm, bookies in Vegas give the Jayhawks a one point advantage. The former Matadors need to dispose of some birds before thinking about steers.

Anybody here old enough to remember Kern Tips?
I consider the best ever football broadcaster. He could verbally paint the action of a game. He credited not only the ball carrier but those blocking for him. Each involved for the defense was mentioned. Tips was a tremendous talent.
As a kid, I looked forward to each Saturday Southwest Conference game and Tips' broadcast. Tips was perhaps best known as the “Voice of the Southwest Conference,” having spent thirty-two years broadcasting Southwest Conferenceqv football games. During that period he was associate producer and narrator of Humble Oil and Refining Company’s “Southwest Conference Highlights.” His voice was beamed around the world through the facilities of the Armed Forces Radio Service network.
Kern Tips died in 1967 at age 62.
