;D One question.......does the ******** wind ever quit ********* blowing down here !!!!!!!! LOL
moved in Easter Sunday. Trying to get used to the area. some days I know theres cows a might close. ROFL
I got a bird in the chimney that my contractor is gonna have to work on keeping out. My dryer vent bangs in the 'breeze' had to go out and prop shut with a brick. I got a mouth full of dirt and hair feels gritty gonna spend a lot of time in the bath. LOL
best time to hit a lick outside is around 6 get a jump on the wind. I feel like Lawrence of Arabia riding his camel thru the sandstorm. LOL

Better get used to it. ;D
It's rare when the wind is completely still in the Panhandle area.
But fortunately it's not blowing dirt very often.
And yep...you can sometimes smell the cattle feedlots SW of Canyon at Hereford.
Those of us who have beem here a while may not even notice the smell every time.

Reminds me of when we stayed up at the Grand Hotel in Michigan and the swank posh place smelled of horse manure all thru the area. LOL Fancy Grand had horse drawn carriages and the horses just let loose. Down South they have bags on the horses so you don't need street cleaners all day long. Up in Ind I had a pig farm up on the hill that thankfully closed, but, it could be ripe too. Yep, at the crack of dawn you can enjoy stillness looks like that's gonna be it. always blue skies though, up in Ind you have to have a flashlight to get around in the daytime till summer LOL dark and dreary all the time.

One of the guys who was 2 yrs behind me in high school married a chick from Indiana. He met her and she got him to move to Indiana...and he says he likes it. I thought about you while driving on Georgia a while ago, so you now have an official place to eat.

You will love the nights in the summer. Because of our altitude, the nights are usually cool...low 70's-high 60's while the daytime is in the 90's. Humidity is usually low as well.
Not far to the mountains of New Mexico or Colorado if one desires an interesting break.... The old saying around here is if you wear out one pair of shoes, you will never leave.
Welcome to the Texas Panhandle.....

The low humidity is very nice around here.
The other afternoon...we had a hot SW wind...and the humidity was way down to 7%.
That is very dry.

Man, all my accounts dealing with driving sure went up my state farm car insurance bill went up 80 bucks, my AAA went from 81 to 125 ! you mean people down here can drive without insurance? agent winked at me and said "tx has one in 3 drivers that have no insurance why you will see higher premiums". In Ind. you can't get a license unless you show proof of insurance ! down here guess a certain sect of the population makes the rest of us pay higher premiums for the fact they can drive around without insurance and as far as I know , no license too.

While the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), also known as the Highway Patrol, now has computer capability in their patrol cars to check almost instantly whether a motorist has insurance, Texas has had in the past, individuals that would purchase one month of insurance to be able to obtain a license tag. Steps have been taken by insurance companies and enforcement to limit this activity but success has been limited.
A problem that keeps surfacing is the number of illegals driving in Texas without insurance, title or tags. Uninsured motorist coverage is a must.

Think AllState is gonna be the cheapest way to go. State Farm lost our business, we wanted to bundle house and car, but, they want 500 more then allstate does. down here too, you have plates on front and back that's new to us. meat is cheaper, gas is a tad cheaper. Dentists can clean up down here with the men I've seen working in and around my house. ;D I've seen some weird looking teeth.

It does have an annual membership, but with that membership, you do have a small accidental death benefit. We have found that the insurance and benefits are much better than with any other insurance. You DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE a farm or ranch to have the insurance. PM SJ, he can tell you more
