Like an idiot, I stopped at T-n-T to get some gas today but mainly to get some cash back so I could pick up a sandwich for lunch at Judy's. My regular gas station, Taylor's, doesn't give cash back when you pay with a debit card and I didn't know if Judy's took debit cards for food. So, I went in to pay for some gas and I told the clerk I needed $10 in cash, too. He said they now charge $1 for cash back!! That is pure BS, and I said never mind I will go somewhere else and walked out. Doesn't Greg Mitchell make enough money already? I will NEVER, EVER step foot in another Tote-n-totem!!! I know that the ATM machines charge if you use one that isn't your bank's, but I think the stores should not charge when you are making a purchase, too!!!

Wait, that isn't what happens to me. I do that at least two times a week, including this morning. I did not get charged.

Walmart doesn't charge to use your debit/ATM card...or to get cash back.
Also...whatever bank TNT is running their transactions through...may be the one charging.

Really? Interesting. I went to store #33 (I think). Maybe I should call the manager?

I ended up going to Walmart and was not charged for the cash back.

It's the bank TNT is using to process the transactions.
Walmart gives their bank enough business...they don't get charged.
TNT is most likely just passing along a bank fee they have to pay...down to the consumer.
Has nothing to do with which store it was...and the fee would be automatically added to the cash back amount...on your card.

Also...I think Walmart is so big...they own a bank...so they can also avoid fees...that TNT has to pay.

Last time I got cashback at TNT they charged a buck. It was charged to my account, the employee couldn't have kept it.

That would only apply if you were using the debit card from WalMart's bank. Mitchell and Richard Ware play squash on a regular basis.

OK, we're talking about two different things here. I didn't get cash back the way you are saying, so I'm sure it's a uniform process at all stores. I will frequently write checks for $10 over the amount to get cash, at no charge.

More importantly, what's Judy's and how are their sandwiches?

I used my ATM/Debit card yesterday to get cash back at Walmart...with no fee...
but if I use another bank's ATM...to get cash...I get nailed for up to $2.50.
Also...I don't use Walmart's bank.
The only time I ever use a debit or credit card at TNT...is to pay for gas at the pump.
And it's a rare occasion for me to buy gas at TNT.
