Okay. Let's talk about football and not ticket prices, etc.
Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree have HOW MANY Yards??? Only the best in NCAAF I guarantee it. Tech has the biggest Offensive line with an average of 331 lbs per guy. One guy is 6'8", one guy is 6'4" and the other 3 are 6'7". We have the biggest offensive line in college football!!
And really, do you have to look at past records, i:e: B.J. Symons, Kliff Kingsbury, Sonny Cumbie, Cody Hodges?? They didn't make the cut. But you know who did? Ummmmmmm.....Wes Welker to Miami for 2 years. Yes, that's right Zach thomas, you had a fellow TTU guy with you. And now he is with New England. Making history. Beat the Cowboys.
I am a Cowboys fan, but a TTU fan beforehand. d**n you Wes, but you played an excellent game and I was proud to hear the commentators talking about you. Awesome job, but dammit, I wish you were on our side. Godspeed, Wes and I hope to never see you against the 'boys.

Ain't that the truth. But it was cool seeing Wes do so well.

I agree...as much as I wanted the Cowboys to win, it sure was fun watching Wes do his thing. I've been a big fan of his for several years.

IMO, the talent pool of Tech continues to get better each year.

IMO, the talent pool of Tech continues to get better each year. Agreed, I went there in the late 80's and early 90's and we had talents then. Spike Dykes was FB coach and Gerald Myers was basketball coach. Now we've got Leach and Bobby Knight, I think now the Tech Athletic program might be actually serious about sports now. /Tech has always been underrated //we'll keep getting better /// watch out UT!!!!

Wow! The Y and the K in Spike Dykes was actually replaced with asterisks. Talk about censorship! I can still say asterisks, right???

Note to future users:
Never the letters "Y" and "K" congruently in a word together. The mods on this forum must be retarded and/or have a severe form of OCD.

I'll be heading down on Saturday, hopefully to see my Buffs kick the crap out of the Red Raiders. I think we're going to get beat, though. Oh well, at least I didn't have to go to school in Lubbock. Is Tech still considered the ugliest campus in America? It has to be the ugliest is the Big 12, hands down. I guess you can't expect too much from a Tier 3 university, though. ;D

I have a younger cousin...who lives in the Boulder area.
He's a smart guy...but went to college in Texas...and hates CU.
I believe his term for CU students is....a bunch of rich spoiled pot-heads. ;D
He likes the Boulder area...but there's just something about CU that turned him off immediately...when he moved up there.

Boulder is a great campus. The people are cool too and I dig the hippy chicks (if they shave). Great concerts at Red Rocks. Fly fishing the North Fork.
Tech is a scary opponent, but they have a horrible record against ranked teams.

Let's just hope they rebounded and are scary enough.

I have a younger cousin...who lives in the Boulder area. He's a smart guy...but went to college in Texas...and hates CU. I believe his term for CU students is....a bunch of rich spoiled pot-heads. ;D He likes the Boulder area...but there's just something about CU that turned him off immediately...when he moved up there. It's just a different mentality up there, WT. First, you have to understand that at least 50% of the students up there were from out of state when I attended back in the mid 90's. I would assume that it is still pretty close to that margin. A lot of the kids that go to school there are rich kids from the East Coast who are attracted to the close proximity to the mountains and are snow boarders or ski bums. In addition, there were a ton of international students at the school. When I was there, the Norweigian government had a deal with CU where the would pay for their school at CU. So, there were all kinds of goddess-like blonde Norweigian girls that were on campus when I was there. Many of them were on the ski team and were highly sought after by all of the male co-ed's on campus. If a guy was able to score one of the Viking girls, he was usually going to not only have them, but also a couple of her fellow countrywomen on special nights, if you catch my drift. Also, I had a beautiful gf from South Africa while going to school there and I am still kicking myself in the butt from letting her get away. Her dad had been some wealthy Boer shipping magnate who took a nice fortune out of the country before the Mandela govt. took over. While Boulder is definitely 420 friendly, I think that occurs to varying degrees on all college campuses. Let's remember, it is college after all, people are away from home for the first time, and they are going to experiment with different things, drugs included. When I was in school up there, it was mostly pot and shrooms, with some other various psychedelics sprinkled in. What they didn't have a lot of, though, was the ecstasy, cocaine, and heroin use like they did on a lot of the Texas campuses at that time. Binge drinking is actually a bigger problem up there than marijuana use. Yeah, they have a lot of hippies that go to school up there, but they exist on every campus along the front range, with the exception of the Air Force Academy. Personal sanitary habits aside, they are pretty harmless and are happy as long as they have their Birkenstocks, a hackey sack, some kind bud, and horticulture classes to take. ;D I was always more of a Doc Martin guy myself. Now, all that being said, not everyone that goes to school there is like that. While my parents made a decent living, they were far from rich, compared to many of the other kids that went to school there. I was able to get in state tuition through a loop hole, but it was still very expensive, just like everything else in the state of Colorado. I had to wait tables my last 2 years up there for money part time. I lived in the frat house my 2nd and 3rd years, but lived off-campus for the last 2 years of school with 3 other room mates. We lived off of wild game for those years and bought a deep freeze to keep all of it. We field dressed more than one elk in the back yard and always had loaded guns around the house. So, not everyone up there was a little pansy fruitcake. All in all, I guess the campus is a little more liberal than the average resident of the Texas Panhandle could deal with comfort. Most universities of of any clout are fairly liberal, though, and that is just a part of going off to one of those schools. After growing up in such a restrictive environment like Amarillo, I found the experience in Boulder to be quite liberating and a breath of fresh air. I think it was a great experience to get away from home and come into contact with people that were from different backgrounds than myself.

I was concerned when I heard how big that TTU offensive line was, but after watching them, they're not that athletic. I think they gave up too much speed to get size.
